Ashley's Horses

Strawberry Hotcakes

AKA: Ryder

Ryder is an 2013 model, strawberry roan BLM Mustang from Pancake, NV.

Ryder was brought out of holding in February 2018 for the Kentucky Extreme Mustang Makeover. He was trained by Jessica Davis and Ashley purchased him after the makeover. Ashley has now had him for several years and they have become a great team.

Ryder is Ashley's heart horse and he is an incredible ambassador for the Mustang breed. He was once a very untrusting and skittish horse, but with a lot of time and patience, Ashley and Ryder have formed an amazing bond. He has got the biggest personality and is always so goofy and curious. He wins over everyone he meets and convinces them that he needs a constant supply of attention and treats using his beautiful smile. He loves to play and liberty work is where he thrives. He is Ashley's main lesson horse and has been used to teach many kids and adults to ride through Ashley's lesson program.

He is a very versatile horse and has been used for dressage, working equitation, ranch riding, cow work, trail riding, bridleless riding, as well as liberty and trick work.

Everly

Everly is a 2017 model, palomino BLM Mustang from Triple B, NV.

Everly was brought out of holding as a coming two year old for the 2019 Youth Kentucky Extreme Mustang Makeover. Everly was Ashley's last youth makeover horse. Ashley trained her on her own from day one, and completed against 43 other competitors after approximately 100 days of training. Ashley and Everly placed 3rd in Handling and Conditioning and 2nd in Trail, landing them 10th overall.

Following the competition, Ashley started Everly under saddle and found her a new home in Maryland.

Red Spruce

AKA: Rouge

Rouge is a 2017 model, sorrel BLM Mustang from Spruce-Pequop, NV.

Rouge was Ashley's draw from the 2020 Ohio Equine Affaire TIP Challenge. She was an amazing partner for Ashley to work with and went on to place 5th overall in the competitions against 33 other competitors.

Ashley started Rouge under saddle following the competition and she has turned into a beautiful little mare. She has experince with dressage, jumping, trail riding, and trick training.

Rouge is currently on lease in Indiana and helping her kid reach her horse showing goals.

Stars of Andromeda

AKA: Andy

Andy is a 2017 model, seal brown BLM Mustang who was born in holding.

Andy was the one that started it all, and where the name Restart Horsemanship originated from.

Andy was Ashley's draw for the 2018 Youth Kentucky Extreme Mustang Makeover. She was the first horse Ashley had to start from the very beginning and, while a lot of mistakes were made, something amazing came out of it. She started the mustang obsession in Ashley and inspired her to get better, learn more, and be the best she could while helping these incredible horses.

Andy and Ashley didn't place in the EMM, but the knowledge gained and the passion created from this experience lit a flame.

About a year after the makeover, Andy was diagnosed with EPM and has since been recovering. She gained back her movement and made it out of the disease, but has struggled with balancing out and gaining muscle and therefore has been put on pasture until she is older before she will be started under saddle to ensure the safest experience for both Andy and Ashley.
